Active ingredients

The powder bottle contains: Active ingredient Cobamamide 30 mg (after solubilization, 10 drops contain 1 mg of Cobamamide). For the full list of excipients, see section 6.1.

Excipients

The powder bottle contains: Mannitol. The single-dose solvent container contains: Benzalkonium chloride, purified water.

Therapeutic indications

In all cases of Vitamin B12 deficiency due to increased demand and reduced dietary intake.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients.

Dosage

Adults: 10–20 drops 2–3 times a day (10 drops = 1 mg). Children: 10 drops 2–3 times a day. DO NOT EXCEED THE RECOMMENDED DOSES. The drops can be added to water, milk, or other liquids without altering their flavor.

Warnings and precautions

Products containing cobamamide should not be administered to anemic subjects unless further investigation is carried out to establish the exact nature of the anemia. Inappropriate administration of the product may lead to diagnostic errors. Treatment of anemic conditions must be conducted under haematological supervision. Given the particular lability and photosensitivity of cobamamide, any solution of the product in liquids or mixing it with other foods must take place immediately before administration. After a short period of treatment without appreciable results, consult your doctor.

Interactions

No interaction studies have been performed. No interactions with other drugs are known.

Undesirable effects

The use of cobamamide may rarely be followed by general hypersensitivity reactions (fever, hypotension, skin rashes, anaphylaxis).

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

Animal studies do not show reproductive toxicity (see section 5.3). The use of Indusil during pregnancy can be considered, provided that the normal therapeutic doses are respected and there is a real medical indication for treatment.
