Analgesic and antiseptic drug

Indications

Camphor Afom Hydroalcoholic Solution is used:

• As a rubefacient and analgesic, it is indicated in the treatment of mild neuralgia, joint and muscle pain, gout, skin irritations and itching.
• As an antiseptic, it is indicated in the treatment of numb ulcers, erysipelas, and nosocomial gangrene.

Directions Directions for Use and Dosage

Apply topically with a light massage, rubbing the affected area for 3-5 minutes.

It is recommended not to exceed the maximum daily dose of 0.60 g (corresponding to 6 ml). The medicine should not be swallowed. The medicine is contraindicated in children up to 30 months of age. The duration of treatment should not exceed 3 days.

Contraindications and side effects

Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients;

Broken skin, wounds, abrasions;

Children up to 30 months of age;

Children with a history of epilepsy or febrile convulsions.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

There are no or limited data on the use of camphor in pregnant women. The medicine is not recommended during pregnancy and in women of childbearing potential not using contraception. Animal studies do not indicate direct or indirect harmful effects with respect to pregnancy, embryonic/fetal development, parturition, or postnatal development.

Caution should be exercised when prescribing this medicine to pregnant women because camphor crosses the placenta. There is insufficient information on the excretion of camphor in breast milk. This medicine should not be used during breastfeeding.
