Indications

Potassium Iodide Ki is a Bodyline supplement in tablets that is used in people with a low dietary intake of iodine.
Potassium Iodide is useful for the protection of the thyroid after exposure to radiation.

Thyroid protection after exposure to radiation:
In 1982, the US FDA approved potassium iodide to protect the thyroid gland from radioactive iodine in the event of an accidental event or an attack on a nuclear power plant or an atomic bomb.
After a nuclear accident, the possible fumes of Iodine-131 are very dangerous for the thyroid gland.
It seems that the administration of 50-100 mg of iodine per day, in the form of potassium iodide, to subjects living in areas affected by a nuclear accident, within 48 hours of the accident itself, significantly reduces the uptake of I-131 (radioactive iodine) by the thyroid.

Ingredients

Bulking agent: cellulose; maltodextrin, anti-caking agents: magnesium salts of fatty acids, silicon dioxide; potassium iodide.
