Indications

Peg Bioma is a Medical Device for the symptomatic treatment of constipation. Its action promotes peristalsis, helping to ensure adequate intestinal evacuation, thus counteracting constipation and preventing the formation of fecal impaction. Unflavored.

Composition

Macrogol, sucralose.

Directions for use and Dosage

Suitable for adults and children over 12 years of age - 1 to 4 sachets per day. The dose should be increased or decreased, depending on the individual response to treatment, to allow regular evacuation of soft stools. The maximum necessary dose does not normally exceed 4 sachets per day. Dissolve the powder in water or other liquid (125 ml per sachet) and take immediately. It is recommended to administer the product in the morning if the minimum dose (1 sachet per day) is required. For larger doses, divide the dose between morning and evening. If no improvement is noted after 7 days of treatment, consult your doctor.

Warnings

Keep out of the reach and sight of children. Administration to children must be carried out under the direct supervision of an adult. Consult your doctor before use during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Do not use after the expiry date indicated on the package. Do not use if the package is opened or damaged. The product may reduce the residence time in the intestine and therefore the absorption of oral medications. It is therefore advisable to consult your doctor if taking oral medications at the same time, which must in any case be administered at least 2 hours apart. The product may may cause a potential interaction when used with starch-based food thickeners. Macrogol counteracts the thickening effect of starch, liquefying the preparations that should otherwise remain thick to allow intake by people with swallowing problems. In case of adverse reactions, discontinue treatment and consult your doctor.

Contraindications

Do not take PEG BIOMA in case of:

• Known hypersensitivity to one or more of the following: components.
• Paralytic ileus.
• Intestinal perforation, obstruction, or stenosis.
• Severe inflammatory bowel disease (e.g., ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease, toxic megacolon).

The use of laxatives is contraindicated in the presence of acute or unknown abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting, rectal bleeding of unknown origin, and in severe dehydration.

Side effects

Some gastrointestinal disorders may occur (stomach ache, flatulence, abdominal swelling, nausea, and fecal incontinence). Diarrhea is a secondary effect of taking excessive doses of PEG BIOMA and can be avoided by reducing the dose. Cases of hypersensitivity reactions (skin rash) have been reported rarely following the use of products containing macrogol. If this occurs, discontinue treatment and consult your doctor.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, away from light and heat sources. The expiration date refers to the product when stored correctly.
