Medical device based on simethicone and sucrose esters.
Indications
Dicosim Plus Flat Stomach is useful in the treatment of symptoms associated with gastrointestinal tract disorders, flatulence, bloating, aerophagia, and abdominal swelling.
The two functional substances contained in DicoSim Plus act synergistically in counteracting the symptoms associated with the overproduction of gastrointestinal gas, consequently reducing bloating and discomfort associated with dyspeptic disorders. Simethicone acts as an antifoaming agent, breaking up the gas bubbles formed on the surface of gastrointestinal fluids and absorbing the gas. Sucresters act specifically on the reduction of protein foams present in the gastrointestinal tract, but are also capable of reducing foam formation if the product is administered directly with milk.
Ingredients
Simethicone, sucresters, water, xanthan gum, citric acid, flavoring, sodium benzoate, potassium sorbate, sucralose. Gluten-free.
Directions for use and dosage
Adults: 20–40 drops, possibly diluted in a liquid (such as milk), preferably after meals,
2-4 times a day or as advised by your doctor. Do not take directly from the dropper.
Shake well before use. Close the bottle tightly after use.
Warnings
The product may appear separated into the two phases. After shaking, it should appear as a homogeneous emulsion.
Keep out of reach of children. Do not exceed the recommended dose.
During pregnancy and breastfeeding, take the product only after medical advice.
Do not use the product after the expiration date; the expiration date refers to the intact and correctly stored product. Do not use the product if the packaging is not intact. All product components, including the dropper, must be intact. Do not use the product for more than 1 month. 30 days.
After a short period of treatment (7 days) without appreciable results, consult your doctor.
In case of adverse reactions, discontinue use of the product and consult your doctor in order to establish appropriate therapy.
During use, if you suspect accidental contamination of the dropper, wash it thoroughly before reinserting it into the appropriate bottle to prevent possible contamination.
Following the instructions in the package leaflet reduces the risk of side effects. It is important to report to your doctor or pharmacist the appearance of side effects not described in this package leaflet.
Do not use in case of suspected intestinal or ileal perforation. Do not use in case of congenital hypothyroidism treated with levothyroxine or related drugs. Do not use in case of hypersensitivity reactions to the product ingredients.
Side effects and overdose
Like all simethicone-based products, this medical device can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. Tell your doctor if you notice the following side effects while using DicoSim Plus:
- Vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal or ileal pain, nausea;
- Skin rash;
- Swelling of the face, eyes, lips, tongue, throat with difficulty breathing (angioedema).
These effects occur very rarely. No overdoses have been reported.
Interactions and incompatibilities
The product may interfere with substances such as guaic gum, used in diagnostic procedures, and with cephalosporin antibiotics. Furthermore, the literature reports a case of interaction between Simethicone and Levothyroxine. Therefore, in case of therapy with drugs based on Levothyroxine or related drugs, use DicoSim Plus only after consulting a doctor. As a general rule, it is recommended to take supplements or other medications at least 2 hours before or 2 hours after taking DicoSim Plus.
Storage
Store at room temperature. Keep the container tightly closed and away from heat sources. The product should not be used more than 30 days after opening.
