Indications

Alli is indicated for weight loss in overweight adults; it should be taken in conjunction with a low-calorie, low-fat diet. This weight loss drug is recommended for use by those aged 18 and over.

Alli hard capsules act on the digestive system, blocking the absorption of some of the fats present in the diet.

Directions for use and dosage

Take one capsule, 3 times a day, immediately before, during, or within an hour of main meals. Do not exceed 6 months of treatment.

Contraindications

Do not use Alli capsules in case of:

• hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients;
• concomitant treatment with ciclosporin;
• chronic malabsorption syndrome;
• cholestasis;
• pregnancy and breastfeeding;
• concomitant treatment with warfarin or other oral anticoagulants.

Ingredients and composition

Each hard capsule contains:

Active substance: 60 mg of orlistat.

Excipients: Contents of the Capsule: Microcrystalline cellulose (E460), Sodium starch glycolate, Povidone (E1201), Sodium lauryl sulfate, Talc; Capsule: Gelatin, Indigo carmine (E132), Titanium dioxide (E171), Sodium lauryl sulfate, Sorbitan monolaurate; Capsule printing ink: Shellac, Black iron oxide (E172), Propylene glycol; Band: Gelatin, Polysorbate 80, Indigo carmine (E132).

Warnings

The possibility of gastrointestinal symptoms may increase if the capsules are taken with a single meal or in combination with a high-fat diet. Treatment may impair the absorption of fat-soluble vitamins. It is important to use an additional method of contraception to prevent the possible failure of oral contraceptives. Particular care should be taken when taking this medicine in patients with epilepsy or thyroid disease.

Storage

Do not store above 25°C. Keep the bottle tightly closed to protect from moisture.
