Liquid paraffin Vaseline oil for the short-term treatment of occasional constipation.

Indications

Vaseline oil is used after hemorrhoid surgery or other surgical procedures that require a reduction in defecatory effort in the post-surgical period, but also when it is necessary to empty the bowel before radiological examinations, endoscopic examinations, and surgical interventions, or even in cases of constipation.
Vaseline oil forms an emulsion with the feces in the intestine, softening the mass.
It also has a lubricating effect that facilitates the expulsion of feces.

Directions for use and Dosage

Adults: 5 to 30 ml.
Children over 3 years of age: 5 to 20 ml.

Preferably take after the evening meal, so that the laxative effect, which occurs after 6–8 hours, does not disturb sleep.
