Indications
Monacolin K, obtained from fermented red rice (Monascus Purpureus) intervenes in the hepatic synthesis of cholesterol. The beneficial effect is obtained with the daily intake of 10 mg of monacolin K. Phytosterols interfere with the transport of cholesterol in the micelles at intestinal level, reducing the possibility that dietary cholesterol is absorbed through the transporters responsible for its internalization. The beneficial effect is obtained with a daily intake of at least 0.8 g of plant sterols/stanols.
Green tea has an antioxidant action.
Coenzyme Q10 is a powerful antioxidant synthesized in the liver like cholesterol.
Folic acid allows the reduction of plasma homocysteine levels, a metabolite that damages the vascular endothelium.
