Product Description

Food supplement based on plant extracts with melatonin, useful for promoting faster sleep.

Indications

Calmòria is a food supplement based on melatonin and plant extracts useful for promoting sleep and normal mood tone.

Benefits of the components contained in Calmòria

Passionflower (Passiflora incarnata L.) is a perennial, climbing, and branched herbaceous plant with colorful flowers that open during the summer. Thanks to its active ingredients, it helps promote relaxation and mental well-being. It is mainly used to promote physiological and restorative sleep and to combat stress.

Eschscholzia (California Poppy) helps promote relaxation and improves the quality of sleep, countering annoying nighttime awakenings.
Valerian(Valeriana officinalis L.), thanks to its calming properties, is traditionally used to treat mild anxiety disorders and promote nighttime rest, decreasing the time it takes to fall asleep and improving the quality of sleep.

Chamomile (Matricaria chamomilla L., inflorescences) is a herbaceous plant that has been used since ancient times for its numerous benefits, particularly its relaxing and digestive properties. It is particularly useful for countering agitation and sleep disturbances.

Hawthorn (Crataegus rhipidophylla Grand.) is a highly branched and thorny shrub belonging to the Rosaceae family.
In addition to promoting cardiovascular function, it is useful for promoting relaxation and mental well-being.

Lemon balm (Melissa officinalis L., leaves) is a small herbaceous plant belonging to the Labiatae botanical family, traditionally used for its benefits on the nervous system and the gastrointestinal tract. Thanks to its relaxing properties, lemon balm helps promote sleep and normal mood.

Griffonia (Griffonia simplicifolia) is an evergreen shrub belonging to the Fabaceae family, native to West-Central Africa and therefore also known as the African bean. Used for centuries in African folk medicine, griffonia has been studied by researchers for its content of 5-hydroxytryptophan (5-HTP), an endogenous precursor of serotonin. Serotonin (5-HT), also known as the "happiness hormone," is a neurotransmitter synthesized in the brain and other tissues from the essential amino acid tryptophan and is involved in numerous biological functions, such as regulating mood, sleep, and appetite.

Melatonin is a hormone synthesized by the pineal gland (or epiphysis) during the night and has many beneficial properties. The production and release of this hormone depend on light exposure: melatonin levels increase during the night, in darkness, and decrease during the day, in the presence of light.
The main action that melatonin has on our body is the regulation of the sleep-wake cycle, also known as the circadian cycle. Each individual has a biological clock lasting approximately 24 hours, which regulates the alternation between sleep and wakefulness and repeats cyclically. By binding to a class of specific receptors in our brain, melatonin helps reduce the time it takes to fall asleep, improving the quality and duration of sleep. Melatonin can also improve the symptoms of jet lag, sleep disturbances caused by time zone changes that can lead to difficulty maintaining alertness.
