Product Description

Food supplement based on valerian, lemon balm, and griffonia.

Indications

Biorem is a supplement formulated to promote relaxation, calm anxiety and stress, and support the normal functioning of the nervous system.
An adjuvant in the treatment of insomnia, it promotes physiological sleep and limits nighttime awakenings.
It has a positive effect on mood in cases of agitation and excessive irritability.

Composition

  • Eschscholzia: (Echoltzia californica) is a plant of the Papaveraceae family. Known for its sedative and hypnotic properties, it is useful for headaches, mood disorders, and sleep disorders. Its action is due to the presence of alkaloids and, in general, to the phytocomplex, that is, the set of active ingredients, among which protopine stands out, which has an antispasmodic and relaxing effect, berberine, which has a sedative effect, and cryptopine, which acts on the heart with a calming effect. California poppy stands out from other sedative plants above all for its long-lasting action: it acts for a good part of the night and thus ensures prolonged sleep. This effect seems to be due in part to protopine, which stimulates the synthesis of serotonin and therefore promotes restful sleep, preventing nighttime awakenings.
  • Valerian:It has sedative properties on the central nervous system (or CNS), antispasmodic and anxiolytic. More Specifically, the sedative and anxiolytic effects appear to be exerted by valepotriates and some constituents of valerian essential oil, such as valerenic acid and valerenal. In cases of agitation and tachycardia, it can be useful as a natural tranquilizer, acting as an anxiolytic and also with a blood pressure-lowering effect. Valerian's relaxing action occurs both at the central nervous system level and on the smooth muscles of the intestine. This is why valerian is also a valid aid in cases of abdominal cramps, spasms, colitis attacks, or irritable bowel syndrome. The valerian used in Biorem is "Fast Release." It ensures rapid assimilation, has a release time of 8 minutes, and acts more rapidly. Fast and immediate relief from stress- and tension-related disorders.
  • Jujube:Thanks to its content of triterpene saponins, jujube seed extract has shown activity against anxiety, insomnia, hypertension, excessive irritability, anoxia, neurasthenia, palpitations, and night sweats. Scientific studies conducted in the 1980s and 1990s confirmed the muscle-relaxing, anxiolytic, and hypnotic properties of jujube, whether used alone or in combination with other plants (valerian and lemon balm).
  • Withania Somnifera:It has adaptogenic and tonic properties that regenerate both physically and mentally. The active chemical ingredients are mainly found in the roots: withanolides have essentially anti-inflammatory properties, and withanin, withaninine, and withasomnine, chemically alkaloids, promote regular sleep and help reduce stress and anxiety. One study focused on one of the negative effects of stress, namely increased cortisol. Subjects treated with Ashwagandha extracts experienced improved energy and well-being, reducing feelings of fatigue and improving their sleep. Furthermore, cortisol levels dropped by 26%, blood sugar levels normalized, and the chemical state of lipids improved.
  • Griffonia: A leguminous plant of African origin, the part used for therapeutic purposes is its seeds, an incredible source of 5-HTP hydroxytryptophan, a natural amino acid that is a precursor to serotonin, the neurotransmitter capable of improving mood and whose deficiency is associated with numerous emotional disorders. 5-HTP hydroxytryptophan is also an intermediate in the metabolism of tryptophan, an essential amino acid not synthesized by the body.
The amount of tryptophan capable of crossing the blood-brain barrier and then being used appears to be approximately 3 percent because in our body only a small amount is free in the blood while the majority is bound to proteins. Therefore, only the minimal percentage that crosses the barrier, through enzymatic reactions, is transformed into 5-HTP hydroxytryptophan and subsequently into serotonin. On the contrary, 5-HTP hydroxytryptophan, not binding to other substances, is able to cross the blood-brain barrier with a much higher percentage, approximately 60-70 percent, and then is physiologically converted into serotonin. Thanks to this mechanism of action, it can be very useful for those suffering from anxiety or panic attacks because it helps to reduce the risk of developing serotonin. Serotonin not only affects mood but is also calming.
  • Lemon balm: Used effectively in the visceral somatizations of anxiety, having a dual role as an antispasmodic and sedative at the same time. Its leaves, rich in essential oil, are used to combat colitis, gastrointestinal problems, and headaches caused by anxiety and consequent somatizations. Lemon balm in general guarantees an effective antispasmodic and anti-inflammatory function and is particularly indicated for countering irritability, insomnia, nervousness, and tachycardia.
  • Lavender essential oil: The essential oil is rich in functional substances (linalool, limonene, cineole, camphor, tannins, ursolic acid, flavonoids, and bitter substances) that give the plant a sedative and calming effect on the nervous system. Modern phytotherapy, based on numerous studies, recognizes sedative, antispasmodic, antifungal, antiseptic, and anti-inflammatory properties, as well as an antinociceptive action very similar to that exerted by tramadol (an opioid analgesic), thus also reducing pain.
  • Bitter Orange Essential Oil: Calming and antidepressant: according to aromatherapy, this oil has a calming effect on fears of various kinds, counteracts depression, bringing the person to a joyful state of mind with a strong recovery of lost energy. Useful against melancholy, it is an essential oil that comforts and removes insecurities.
