Antioxidant supplement based on ascorbic acid, potassium salt (ascorbic acid and potassium bicarbonate), red vine seed extract (standardized at 95% in proanthocyanidins), and dry olive leaf extract (standardized at 6% in oleuropein).
Ascorbic acid (vitamin C) is an important water-soluble vitamin, essential for the proper functioning of our body.
The body requires vitamin C to perform its normal physiological functions. This vitamin is involved in the synthesis and metabolism of tyrosine, folic acid, and tryptophan, and in the hydroxylation of glycine, proline, lysine, carnitine, and catecholamines. It facilitates the conversion of cholesterol into bile acids and therefore lowers blood cholesterol levels. It increases iron absorption in the intestine, reducing Fe3+ to Fe2+.
As an antioxidant, it protects the body from the various harmful effects of free radicals, pollutants, and especially toxins. It also plays a role in regulating the immune system, and its specific role in preventing viral infections is currently being studied.
Vitamin C deficiency is often associated with anemia, recurrent infections, bleeding gums,
scurvy, poor wound healing, capillary hemorrhage, muscle degeneration, atherosclerotic plaques, and nervous system disorders. In conditions of deficiency, vitamin C is often supplemented in high doses, and toxicity is rare, unlike fat-soluble vitamins.
Vitamin C administration has always been recommended in conjunction with the intake of mushroom extracts to speed up the absorption of beta-glucans in the intestine. The potassium bicarbonate contained in Askorbato KCPR Time Release is of fundamental importance in conditions of metabolic acidosis: it is in fact used with the aim of restoring the body's acid-base balance. The combination with ascorbic acid aims to reduce oxidative stress mediated by free radicals that develops in conditions of systemic acidosis, particularly during intense physical exercise and in cases of overtraining.
Askorbato KCPR Time Release is not a common vitamin C and potassium bicarbonate supplement.
Its formulation is in fact completed with extracts of olive leaves and red vine seeds, specifically integrated into the formula to strengthen and synergize the physiological action of ascorbic acid.
The olive leaf extract is rich in bioactive substances among which the main polyphenol is oleuropein. Among its derivatives, elenolic acid, which stimulates blood circulation, hydroxytyrosol with antioxidant properties, tyrosol and rutin (flavonol), capable of strengthening the capillary walls.
In Askorbato KCPR Time Release, the combination of ascorbic acid with polyphenols such as oleuropein and proanthocyanidins enhances the typical natural phytocomplex of vitamin C combined with antioxidants from different sources, enhancing its reducing activity and increasing the total antioxidant intake.
Each tablet contains 500 mg of ascorbic acid potassium salt, 152.80 mg of dry extract of olive leaves titrated at 6% in oleuropein and 111.20 mg of dry extract of red vine seeds titrated at 95% in proanthocyanidins.
