Food supplement useful for controlling cholesterol levels
Indications
AlbaCOL is a food supplement based on Fermented Red Rice. It is useful in cases of:
- Mild hypercholesterolemia.
- Statin intolerance (myalgia - increased CPK);
- Chronic liver disease (contraindications to taking lipid-lowering drugs).
Ingredients
Fermented Red Rice - Monacolin K: substance contained in red yeast (Monascus purpureus) produced by the fermentation of rice (Oryza Sativa) capable of regulating and reducing the activity of an enzyme (HMG-CoA reductase) that plays a key role in the endogenous synthesis of cholesterol. Dietary integration of fermented red rice has been shown to be effective in normalizing total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, and triglyceride levels.
Berberine: Plant alkaloid present in various plants (Berberis Aristata) with documented lipid-lowering effects through both a receptor (increasing the expression of the receptor for LDL particles) and secretory mechanism (inhibits intestinal absorption of cholesterol by increasing its secretion).
Policosanols: Substances extracted from sugar cane capable of determining a reduction in total cholesterol and LDL cholesterol and increasing HDL cholesterol by inhibiting hepatic cholesterol synthesis.
Resveratrol: Phenolic substance derived from the dry extract of the root of Polygonum Cuspidatum with documented antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and vasoprotective effects. Its protective action has been demonstrated in reducing the incidence of cardiovascular disease through the ability to inhibit lipid peroxidation and prevent the cytotoxicity of oxidized LDL particles.
Lycopene: A dietary carotenoid found in tomatoes with a powerful antioxidant effect on oxygen free radicals (ROS) and an important nutrient for human health, with documented properties in the prevention of cardiovascular disease and arterial hypertension. Its beneficial effects include the ability to reduce the risk of atherosclerosis and heart attacks.

Directions for use and dosage
