Tantum Verde P remedy for sore throat

Indications

Tantum Verde P Pastilles is used in adults and children over 6 years of age for the local symptomatic treatment of pain and irritation of the mouth and throat.

Dosage and method of use

Tantum Verde P Pastilles is administered according to the following doses:

• Adults and children over 6 years of age: one lozenge 3 times a day. Do not exceed 7 days of treatment.
• Children 6-11 years: the product must be taken under the supervision of an adult.
• Children under 6 years of age: due to the type of pharmaceutical form, administration must be limited to children over 6 years of age.

Oropharyngeal use. Slowly dissolve one lozenge in the mouth. Do not swallow. Do not chew.

Active Ingredients

benzydamine hydrochloride 3 mg (equivalent to 2.68 mg of benzydamine).
Excipients: Isomalt (E 953), Aspartame (E 951), Levomenthol, Citric acid monohydrate, Lemon flavoring, Mint flavoring, Quinoline yellow (E 104), Indigo carmine (E 132).

Special warnings

The use of benzydamine is not recommended in patients with hypersensitivity to acetylsalicylic acid or other NSAIDs. Administer with caution to subjects who suffer or have suffered in the past from episodes of bronchial asthma, as bronchospasm phenomena may occur in this type of patient. In a limited number of patients, oropharyngeal ulcers may be a sign of more serious conditions. Therefore, if symptoms worsen or do not improve within three days, or if fever or other symptoms occur, the patient should contact their doctor or dentist as needed. The product contains isomalt; patients with rare hereditary problems of fructose intolerance should not take this medicine.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

There are no adequate data regarding the use of benzydamine in pregnant or breastfeeding women. The excretion of the product in breast milk has not been studied.
Animal studies are insufficient to highlight the effects on pregnancy or breast-fed children. The potential risk for humans is unknown.
The medicine should not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
