Product Description

A medical device with laxative action that, through an osmotic action, naturally regulates the intestine. It is neither absorbed nor fermented in the intestine, does not irritate the mucosa, and is eliminated in the stool in an unchanged form.

Indications

Stipsigol is particularly indicated for chronic constipation and cases of occasionally irregular bowel movements. Thanks to its affinity for water, it softens the stool, facilitating evacuation without causing cramps, abdominal pain, or urgency. Its effectiveness does not decrease over time.

Composition

Macrogol 3350, Silicon dioxide, flavoring, sodium saccharin.

How to use and Dosage

Unless otherwise prescribed by your doctor, it is advisable to use Stipsigol according to the following instructions:

• From 6 months to 2 years (up to 12kg): 1 sachet per day.
• From 2 to 11 years (from 12kg to 20kg): 1-2 sachets per day
• Adults and children over 11 years (over 20kg): 1-3 sachets per day

Warnings

Gastrointestinal disturbances (abdominal pain, rumbling, diarrhea, or loose stools) may occur, especially during the initial phase of use, as well as nausea, mild vomiting, abdominal distension, flatulence, perianal inflammation and irritation. These effects usually improve by reducing the dose. Allergic reactions, including anaphylaxis, have been observed very rarely. Other symptoms of allergic reactions include itching, hives, and dyspnea. If side effects persist, discontinue treatment and consult your doctor. Keep the device and any resulting solution out of the reach of children. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, take only after consulting your doctor. Do not use the device after the expiry date shown on the package. Do not use if the package is damaged. Never exceed the recommended dose: an overdose may cause severe pain and abdominal distension. Induced diarrhea may also occur, with electrolyte disturbances caused by excessive bowel movements. In case of suspected overdose, contact your doctor immediately. Do not use for more than 30 days. If symptoms persist, consult your doctor. During treatment, it is advisable to follow an appropriate diet, accompanied by the administration of an oral rehydration solution (ORS) to avoid dehydration. However, it is advisable to consult your doctor. Do not use for children under 6 months.

Contraindications

The device is not recommended in cases of intestinal perforation or obstruction due to structural or functional disorders of the intestinal wall, ileus, severe inflammatory diseases of the intestinal tract, such as Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, and toxic megacolon. Known hypersensitivity to macrogol (polyethylene glycol). Do not use in cases of known gastric or intestinal lesions. Do not take the medical device while using other devices or oral medicinal products: the osmotic power of macrogol and the induced increase in gastrointestinal transit speed may negatively affect their efficacy. In any case, consult your doctor before taking Stipsigol if you are undergoing other therapies.

Storage

Store the intact package in a dry place, away from direct light or heat. Store the device below 25°C.
