Features

The high density of the gel formulation allows for high stability in the wound bed. Prontosan Gel X also contributes to the hydration of necrotic tissue and fibrin present in the wound bed, facilitating autolytic processes. Chronic wounds often have a surface coating made up of exudate residues, cells from tissue desquamation, fibrin strands, necrotic tissue and bacterial biofilm, which contribute to hindering the fibroblastic proliferation process and therefore cause a delay, even considerable, in tissue repair processes.
