Indications

Otoscudo is a disposable adhesive film for ear protection, composed of a polyurethane adhesive film. It is indicated for protecting the auricle of patients with infectious and/or inflammatory diseases affecting the external ear and middle ear with or without perforation of the tympanic membrane, in the post-operative course or in subjects wearing hearing aids or with trans-tympanic drainage. It reproduces the shape of the auricle with a configuration that makes it bilateral, meaning it can be applied equally well to the right or left ear. It is made of three layers:

• adhesive film,
• cover layer applied to the non-adhesive side of the protective film,
• release layer to be removed placed in contact with the adhesive side to allow for easy release at the time of application.

Thanks to its characteristics, it is:

• Transparent: the adhesive film that is applied to the ear is transparent and aesthetically almost invisible.
• Waterproof: the adhesive film protects the ear from exposure to air and water such as, for example, in the case of bathing in the sea, showers, swimming and, more generally, during outdoor recreational and sporting activities.
• Breathable: the film is gas-permeable. This It allows, with the passage of air, to avoid condensation and to maintain the ability to hear voices and sounds practically unchanged, with particular benefit for hearing aid wearers.

How to use

It is very important that the film is applied correctly to avoid water entering the ear.

1. Remove the central part (the larger one) of the white adhesive cover (no. 1);
2. Hold the film by the two ends that have the residual adhesive cover (no. 2) with the fingers of both hands. Apply the film to the ear, keeping it taut, aligning the part with the upper adhesive cover no. 2 on the upper part of the auricle and the lower part no. 2 on the lobe. Once the central part of the film adheres well, remove the two pieces of adhesive backing still on the film, making sure that the entire surface adheres to the ear;
3. Remove the two transparent green squared parts that support the film, being careful not to detach it from the ear. It is recommended to hold the film still, squeezing half of it while removing the other half of the support and vice versa;
4. Once all the support has been removed, make sure that each part of the film adheres well by pressing it onto the ear.
