Product Description

Cerulisina Dolore 1% + 5% ear drops is a medicine based on procaine hydrochloride and phenazone, useful in case of ear pain.

Indications

Cerulisina Dolore 1% + 5% ear drops combine the action of two active ingredients (procaine hydrochloride and phenazone), proving useful for the treatment of ear pain (otalgia).

Procaine hydrochloride is a local anesthetic, useful for relieving pain in the area where it is applied.
Phenazone is an anti-inflammatory and analgesic that reduces inflammation and pain.

Dosage and Directions for Use

The recommended dose for an adult is 5-8 drops, 2-4 times a day.
The recommended dose for a child is 4-5 drops, 2-4 times a day.

Insert the drops into the outer part of the ear (external auditory canal). It is advisable to warm the bottle before use.

Do not use this medicine for prolonged treatments. If you do not notice appreciable results after a short period of treatment (1-2 days), consult your doctor.

Composition

Active ingredients: procaine hydrochloride and phenazone. 100 g contain 1 g of procaine hydrochloride (equivalent to 0.866 g of procaine base) and 5 g of phenazone.
Excipients: glycerol.

Contraindications

Cerulisina Dolore ear drops should not be used in case of:

- allergy to procaine hydrochloride, phenazone, other chemically similar substances or to any of the other ingredients of this medicine;

- perforation of the eardrum, as side effects may occur at the level of the middle ear.

Warnings and precautions

Before using this medicine, consult your doctor who, as a precaution, will check that there is no damage to the eardrum.

Children

In the very first childhood, Cerulisina Dolore is recommended only in case of real need and not for prolonged treatment.

Interactions

Even if no interactions with other medicines are known, it is advisable to inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are using, have recently used or might use any other medicines.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

If you are pregnant, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, or if you are breastfeeding, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.

Side effects

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. They may occur with an unknown frequency (the frequency of which cannot be estimated from the available data):

- side effects affecting the middle ear, if there is a perforation of the eardrum;
- reduction in the number of a type of white blood cell (agranulocytosis) and allergic reactions, including severe ones (anaphylactic reactions), following the passage of this medicine into the blood (systemic absorption).

Storage

Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children. Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the carton. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month and to the product in its intact packaging, stored correctly.
