Neo Optalidon: Coated Tablets
Active Ingredients
One coated tablet contains: Active ingredients: paracetamol 200 mg; propyphenazone 125 mg; caffeine 25 mg.
Excipients
Hydroxypropylcellulose; dimethylsilicone oil; crospovidone; hydrogenated vegetable oil; magnesium stearate; titanium dioxide; hydrogenated peanut oil; precipitated silica; macrogol 6000; povidone; sucrose; stearic acid; talc; microcrystalline cellulose; cetyl alcohol; erythrosine (E 127); Gum arabic.
Therapeutic indications
Neo Optalidon Tablets are used for the symptomatic treatment of acute pain (headache, toothache, neuralgia, menstrual cramps) and fever.
Dosage and Directions for Use
Neo Optalidon Tablets are used as follows:
- Adults: 1-2 coated tablets; up to 4 coated tablets in 24 hours, with a large glass of water.
Do not exceed the recommended dose: elderly patients, in particular, should stick to the minimum doses indicated above. Do not administer the product for more than 3 consecutive days without consulting your doctor. Oral analgesic preparations should be taken on a full stomach.
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to the active ingredients or other closely related substances chemically and/or to any of the excipients.
- Hematological disorders such as granulocytopenia and intermittent porphyria.
- Patients with manifest glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency.
- Patients with severe hemolytic anemia.
- Severe hepatocellular and renal insufficiency.
- Due to the presence of caffeine, the product should not be administered to children under 12 years of age.
Special warnings
Use of the product is not recommended if the patient is being treated with anti-inflammatory drugs. High or prolonged doses of the product can cause high-risk liver disease and even serious kidney and blood disorders. Administer with caution to patients with renal or hepatic insufficiency or hematopoietic dysfunction. During treatment with paracetamol, before taking any other medication, check that it does not contain the same active ingredient, as high doses of paracetamol can cause serious adverse reactions.
If fever, angina, or skin or mucous membrane changes occur during treatment, discontinue therapy and consult your doctor.
Instruct the patient to contact their doctor before combining any other medication. In the rare cases of allergic reactions, administration of the product should be discontinued. Particular caution is necessary in patients with asthma, chronic rhinitis, or chronic urticaria.
Isolated cases of asthma attacks and anaphylactic shock associated with the use of drugs containing propylphenazone and paracetamol have been reported in susceptible individuals. The medicine contains sucrose: patients with rare hereditary problems of fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption, or sucrase-isomaltase insufficiency should not take this medicine.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
This medicine is not recommended during pregnancy, even if suspected, particularly in the first three months and during breastfeeding.
