Medical dressing device specifically designed for the sacral area in case of ulcers and infections.

Indications

Mepilex Border Sacrum is an "all-in-one" polyurethane foam dressing for highly exuding sacral wounds, typically pressure ulcers, with signs of infection.
Infected wounds are painful and require optimal treatment.
Mepilex Border Sacrum, thanks to Safetac Technology, ensures the patient a minimal level of pain when changing the dressing.

• The dressing absorbs and retains exudate, maintains a moist wound environment and minimizes the risk of maceration.
• Minimizes pain and trauma when changing the dressing. Fights infections thanks to the antimicrobial properties of silver.
• Soft and conformable, specially designed for the sacral area. Water resistant.
• Dressing size: 15 cm X 15 cm / 6 x 6 in.

Directions for use and dosage

For an initial application:

• Assess the patient's anatomy and determine the appropriate placement of the dressing;
• After preparing the skin, remove the central protective film by gently pulling the edge of the pink strip;
• Spread the buttocks. Apply the dressing to the sacral area and upper gluteal cleft, with the "base" of the dressing positioned to cover the coccyx area;
• Remove the side release liner and gently apply each side by smoothing with your hands;
• Product Application;
• Press and smooth the dressing to ensure the entire surface of the dressing is in contact with the skin.

For reapplication:

• Conduct an assessment to confirm that the dressing is intact and applied correctly;
• Gently pull the tabs to peel the dressing from the skin;
• Continue to peel the dressing from the skin using the tabs until the dressing is completely peeled off. The skin is not exposed enough to be assessed.
• Holding the dressing on the gluteal cleft, assess the skin.
• Reapply the foam and the edges of the dressing.
• Check that the dressing has been reapplied to its original position, ensuring that the edge is intact and flat.
• Press and smooth the dressing to ensure that the entire surface of the dressing is in contact with the skin.
