Idracare hydrogel has a hydrogel matrix made of a polymer capable of holding high quantities of water and resisting breakdown caused by the saline substances present in blood and wound exudate. Water is released gradually and maintains a moist environment that promotes healing. Hyaluronic acid forms a film over the wound and helps maintain a moist environment. The "bag-on-valve" dispenser keeps the hydrogel isolated from the internal propellant and the external environment: it keeps bacterial contamination under control for the entire life of the product.
