Directions for use and Dosage

For oral administration and short-term use only. Adults and adolescents over 12 years of age (body weight 40 kg or more): The lowest effective dose should be used for the shortest duration necessary to relieve symptoms. Adults should consult a doctor if symptoms persist or worsen, or if the product is needed for more than 10 days. Consult a doctor if in adolescents (over 12 years of age) the medicine is needed for more than 3 days or if symptoms worsen. The recommended dose ranges from 200 mg to 400 mg of ibuprofen, up to three times a day as needed. The interval between two doses should be at least 4 hours. Do not exceed a dose of 1200 mg in 24 hours. Children over 6 years of age (body weight <= 39 kg): For children between the ages of 6 and 12, the product containing 200 mg of ibuprofen is recommended. Ibuprofen 200 mg should only be used in children weighing at least 20 kg. The maximum total daily dose of ibuprofen is 20-30 mg per kg of body weight, divided into 3-4 single doses, at dose intervals of 6-8 hours. Do not exceed the maximum recommended daily dose. Do not exceed a total dose of 30 mg/kg of ibuprofen in 24 hours. In children, the following administration instructions apply to ibuprofen 200 mg. Children 20 to 29 kg: 1 capsule of ibuprofen 200 mg (ibuprofen 200 mg); Maximum daily dose: 3 capsules (equivalent to 600 mg ibuprofen). Children 30 to 39 kg: 1 capsule of ibuprofen 200 mg (ibuprofen 200 mg); Maximum daily dose: 4 capsules (equivalent to 800 mg ibuprofen). Children under 6 years of age (body weight < 20 kg): Ibuprofen 200 mg and 400 mg are not suitable for children under 6 years of age (body weight < 20 kg) due to the amount of active ingredient contained in one capsule. Elderly: The dosage for the elderly is the same as that for adults, but greater caution is required. Patients with hepatic insufficiency or renal impairment: No dose reduction is necessary in patients with renal impairment or mild to moderate hepatic impairment, but greater caution is required. Method of administration: The capsules should be swallowed whole with a sufficient amount of liquid. The capsule can be taken during or between meals. Taking it during meals or immediately after meals may delay the onset of action. However, taking it during meals improves the tolerability of the product and reduces the likelihood of gastrointestinal problems.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

Inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis may have adverse effects on pregnancy and/or embryo-fetal development. Data from epidemiological studies suggest an increased risk of miscarriage, cardiac malformation, and gastroschisis after use of a prostaglandin synthesis inhibitor in early pregnancy. The risk is believed to increase with dose and duration of therapy. In animals, administration of prostaglandin synthesis inhibitors has been shown to result in increased pre- and post-implantation loss and embryo-fetal mortality. Additionally, an increased incidence of various malformations, including cardiovascular, has been reported in animals administered prostaglandin synthesis inhibitors during the organogenetic period. Ibuprofen should not be administered during the first and second trimesters of pregnancy unless clearly necessary. If ibuprofen is used by women attempting to conceive, or during the first or second trimester of pregnancy, the dose should be kept as low as possible and the duration of treatment should be as short as possible. During the third trimester of pregnancy, all prostaglandin synthesis inhibitors may expose the fetus to: cardiopulmonary toxicity (with premature closure of the ductus arteriosus and pulmonary hypertension); renal dysfunction, which may progress to renal failure with oligohydramnios; the mother and newborn, at the end of pregnancy, to: possible prolongation of bleeding time; an antiplatelet effect that may occur even at very low doses; Inhibition of uterine contractions, resulting in delayed or prolonged labor. Consequently, ibuprofen is contraindicated during the third trimester of pregnancy. In limited studies, ibuprofen has been detected in breast milk at very low concentrations and is unlikely to have any adverse effects on the breastfed infant. There is some evidence that drugs that inhibit cyclooxygenase/prostaglandin synthesis may impair female fertility by affecting ovulation. This effect is reversible upon discontinuation of treatment.
