Ibuprofen Ratiopharm is a symptomatic treatment of mild to moderate pain.
Each film-coated tablet contains 400 mg of ibuprofen.
Tablet core: modified maize starch; croscarmellose sodium; hypromellose; stearic acid; colloidal anhydrous silica. Coating: hypromellose; macrogol 8000; titanium dioxide.
The lowest effective dose should be used for the shortest duration necessary to relieve symptoms.
The dose of ibuprofen is based on the patient's body weight and age.
The intervals between doses depend on the symptoms and the maximum total daily dose.
A minimum interval of at least 6 hours should be applied.

Undesirable effects may be minimised by using the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration necessary to control symptoms.
Caution is advised if ibuprofen is taken concomitantly with the following medicinal products: – Acetylsalicylic acid or other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs/analgesics: increased risk of gastrointestinal ulceration and bleeding. – Digoxin, phenytoin, lithium: Concomitant use of Ibuprofen ratiopharm Italia 400 mg film-coated tablets and preparations containing digoxin, phenytoin, or lithium may increase the serum levels of these drugs. Correct use of the drugs mentioned does not normally require monitoring of serum levels of lithium, digoxin, and phenytoin.
Pregnancy: Inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis may adversely affect the pregnancy and/or embryo/fetal development.
Breastfeeding: Only small amounts of ibuprofen and its metabolic products are excreted in breast milk. Since ibuprofen is excreted in breast milk, it is important to monitor the serum levels of these drugs. There are no known adverse effects in infants. It is generally not necessary to interrupt breastfeeding during short-term use at the recommended doses for the treatment of mild to moderate pain. However, if the drug is prescribed for prolonged treatment or at high doses, early weaning should be considered.
