Indications

Clismalax is used for the short-term treatment of occasional constipation.

Ingredients and composition

Active ingredient: sodium phosphate monobasic anhydrous (NaH2PO4) 13.91 g; sodium phosphate dibasic anhydrous (NaH2PO4) 3.18 g; sodium hydroxide 0.012 g; sodium benzoate 0.10 g; methyl parahydroxybenzoate 0.05 g; distilled water to 100 ml
Excipients: sodium hydroxide; sodium benzoate; methyl parahydroxybenzoate; Distilled water.

Directions for use and dosage

Adults and children: Use the entire dose of the bottle.

Children over 2 years: Use half or a quarter of the bottle.

Do not exceed the recommended dose. Laxatives should be used as infrequently as possible and for no more than seven days. If constipation persists, it is best to consult a doctor.

Contraindications and side effects

Hypersensitivity to the active ingredients or to any of the excipients.

Laxatives are contraindicated in subjects with acute or unknown abdominal pain, nausea or vomiting, intestinal obstruction or stenosis, rectal bleeding of unknown origin, or severe dehydration. Abuse may lead to persistent diarrhea and water loss, resulting in dehydration.

Use with caution and under the advice of a specialist for children under 12 years of age.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

There are no adequate and well-controlled studies on the use of this medicine during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Therefore, the medicine should be used only if necessary, after weighing the expected benefit to the mother against the possible risk to the fetus or infant.
