DuoDERM® Extra Thin dressing can be used as a primary hydrocolloid dressing for dry to lightly exuding wounds.
It can be used as a secondary dressing to secure AQUACEL® Dressing or AQUACEL® Ag Dressing.
The European Pressure Ulcer Advisory Panel (EPUAP) and the National Pressure Ulcer Advisory Panel (NPUAP) guidelines recommend the use of hydrocolloids for the management of pressure ulcers (PIs).1

DuoDERM® Extra Thin dressing can be used as a primary hydrocolloid dressing for dry to lightly exuding wounds. Can be used to manage Stage I and II pressure ulcers (PIs).
The thin polyurethane film provides an antibacterial and antiviral barrier if the dressing remains intact and leak-free.
The film creates a waterproof barrier over the dressing.
Can be removed without damaging new tissue.
Designed to reduce the risk of further skin breakdown due to friction by avoiding contact with clothing/bedding.
Can be used on the body as a primary or secondary dressing.
Can be used as a secondary dressing. Can be used on skin lacerations and superficial wounds, for dry to lightly exuding wounds, on newly formed tissue or on skin at risk of further injury.

Directions for use

The translucent reinforcement aids in dressing placement and initial wound monitoring.
They are easy to use, the molds can be cut to the desired shape for difficult-to-dress areas.
Wash your hands, clean and rinse the wound, then dry the surrounding skin.
Measure the wound to choose the appropriate dressing size, leaving a 3 cm overlap on the intact skin around the entire wound.
Warm the dressing between your hands.
Remove the white “top” protective paper. Try to minimize finger contact with the adhesive surface.
Hold the adhesive side of the dressing on the wound.
Align with the center of the wound.
Gently apply the central part of the dressing. Remove the white "lower" protective paper by unrolling the dressing over the wound, but do not pull it.
Repeat the operation on the other side and remove the white protective paper.
Gently adapt the dressing to the anatomy of the area for 30-60 seconds.
Gently lift one corner of the dressing.
Unroll it from the wound by pulling the skin in the opposite direction.
Gently lift the other corners and pull upwards until the dressing is completely detached.
