Product Description

Medical device for aerosol with soothing action on the respiratory tract.

Indications

Broncositol is a sterile, preservative-free, single-dose nebulized solution for aerosol administration based on inositol.
Inositol is a polyol known for being an important osmolyte; in fact, it has a great capacity to bind and retain significant quantities of water, especially in the tissues of the respiratory tract. This lubricating and emollient capacity is useful in alleviating symptoms related to inflammation, such as difficulty swallowing, the sensation of a foreign body in the throat, tickling, and dryness. Inositol lowers the surface tension of pulmonary surfactant, improving gas exchange in the bronchial alveoli.

Composition

Each 3 ml vial contains: myo-inositol, purified water, sodium chloride.

Directions for use and Dosage

We recommend 1 3 ml vial or, according to medical advice, up to a maximum of 3 vials per day.
Broncositol nebulizer solution is supplied in vials with a safety pre-break.

To open the vial:

1. hold the vial so that the tip is facing upwards
2. Apply gentle pressure, bend and break the vial at the neck.
Nebulize the contents of a vial using an aerosol therapy device.
It is recommended to use devices equipped with a compressor capable of ensuring a high output flow capacity (indicative value of at least 0.40 ml/minute).

Do not use ultrasound devices.

Warnings

• Do not use the device after the expiry date shown on the packaging;
• Do not use the device if the packaging is open or damaged.
• Do not re-sterilize;
• The device is intended for single use only.
• Do not freeze;
• Once the vial is opened, the product must be used immediately;
• Smoking compromises the protective effect of myo-inositol on bronchial and alveolar function;
• It is recommended to use Broncositol after consulting your doctor;
• Keep out of reach of children;
• If you experience any side effects not described in the package leaflet, inform your doctor or pharmacist;
• Do not exceed the recommended doses;

Interactions

There are currently no known interactions between Broncositol and any concomitant therapies. However, it is advisable to consult your doctor before using the product in combination with other medical devices and drugs.

Contraindications

There are currently no known contraindications to the use of Broncositol, nor have any side effects been reported. However, the use of these products, especially if prolonged, may give rise to sensitization phenomena. In this case, discontinue treatment and consult your doctor to establish appropriate therapy.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

The product should not be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Storage

Store between 4° and 25° C.
The expiry date is indicated on the package.
Do not use after the expiry date shown on the package or if the package is opened or damaged. The expiry date refers to the product in its intact packaging, stored correctly.
