Hypertonic saline solution

Indications

Hypertonic saline solution for inhalation based on: high molecular weight hyaluronic acid, 3% sodium chloride, sodium bicarbonate. Recommended for daily nasal hygiene. It is useful for colds, allergic and non-allergic rhinitis, rhinosinusitis, as well as in all cases requiring nasal decongestion or in the presence of impaired mucociliary clearance. Adjuvant in the prevention and treatment of middle ear infections where improved ventilation of the upper airways is beneficial. Actimar does not contain preservatives.

How to use

Direct irrigation:

1. Break the cap of the vial with a twisting motion.
2. Keep your head tilted to one side, never backwards.
3. Gently place the nozzle of the vial against the upper nostril and press lightly to irrigate.
4. Keep your head tilted to the other side (never backwards) and repeat the irrigation in the other nostril.
5. The container can be closed by turning the cap upside down and pressing it onto the mouth of the vial.

Dosage: irrigate with half a vial in each nostril 2-3 times a day or more frequently. often as needed or as directed by a doctor.

Inhalation therapy:

Actimar can also be used for inhalation therapy of the upper airways: in this case, use the appropriate inhalation devices that guarantee correct nebulization and follow the instructions of the chosen device.

Dosage: one vial, 1-2 times a day or as directed by a doctor.

Warnings

Keep the internal instructions with the product. Use the product for inhalation therapy only on the upper airways. Keep out of the reach and sight of children to avoid incorrect use of the product. Avoid contact with eyes. Not intended for oral use. Not for injection. Use of the same vial by more than one person may compromise its effectiveness and may cause the worsening of existing problems as well as the risk of serious respiratory problems. This may cause the onset of previously unexplained problems. Do not use in cases of individual hypersensitivity to one or more components of the product. Do not use in cases of ongoing or recently completed nosebleeds, or if the nasal mucosa is not intact. Inhalation of a hypertonic saline solution in particularly sensitive patients may cause episodes of bronchospasm: in this case, discontinue use and consult your doctor to establish appropriate therapy. In case of adverse reactions, discontinue use of the product and contact your doctor. Do not use in case of accidental contamination after opening. Smoking may compromise the protective effect of hyaluronic acid. Use of this medical device does not replace other treatments prescribed by your doctor. No interaction studies have been conducted between Actimar vials and other substances and/or drugs. Therefore, if you wish to combine Actimar vials with other substances and/or medications, you must carefully follow your doctor's instructions and the instructions for use of the product used in combination with Actimar vials. Do not use the product in combination with quaternary compounds. Failure to properly follow the warnings and instructions for use could compromise the product's effectiveness or cause existing problems to worsen, as well as cause the onset of problems that were not present before.

Storage

Do not use after the expiration date or if the package is open or damaged.
The expiration date indicated refers to the intact and correctly stored product.
Shelf life with intact packaging: 36 months.
Shelf life after opening: 12 hours.
