Supplement based on vitamin K-1 (phylloquinone) useful for normal blood clotting and the maintenance of normal bones.
Vitamin K are a family of fat-soluble vitamins; the two main groups found in nature are K1 (phylloquinone) and K2 (menaquinone). They are both essential for the activation of K-dependent proteins involved in both blood clotting and bone metabolism and in the inhibition of arterial calcification. However, since vitamin K1 is retained by the liver, its main role is to activate coagulation factors.
Vitamin K1, or phylloquinone, is a nutrient present in trace amounts in some vegetables (spinach, cabbage, peas, lettuce).
The main function of this fat-soluble vitamin is to promote blood clotting processes, as well as playing a role in bone mineralization. Vitamin K deficiency can cause osteoporosis and increase the risk of fractures.
An adequate intake is associated with a reduction in cardiovascular risk, particularly coronary calcification.
Bulking agent (dibasic calcium phosphate), thickener (microcrystalline cellulose), anti-caking agents (vegetable stearic acid and magnesium stearate), thickener (sodium carboxymethylcellulose), vitamin K-1 (phylloquinone), glazing agent (hydroxypropyl methylcellulose), firming agent (glycerol).
