Triphala is one of the best known and most widespread Ayurvedic products. It is prepared with the fruits of three plants: Amalaki (Phillantus emblica L.), Haritaki (Terminalia chebula Retz.) and Bibhitaka (Terminalia bellerica Roxb.) which form a product containing all the flavors except the salty one.
Its three ingredients are mentioned in all Ayurvedic texts as fundamental for their rasayana (rejuvenating) characteristics. Triphala balances all three doshas.
Ingredients
Powder of: Amalaki (Phyllantus emblica L.) fruit, Bibitaki (Terminalia belerica Roxb.) fruit, Haritaki (Terminalia chebula Retz.) fruit; Thickener: corn starch; Anti-caking agents: talc, magnesium stearate.
Directions for use and Dosage
The recommended daily dose is 2 tablets twice a day, preferably after meals.
Warnings
It is recommended not to use Triphala during pregnancy.
