Palm oil
Tocotrienols, together with tocopherols, belong to the family of compounds called vitamin E and are among the most important phytonutrients present in edible vegetable oils, particularly palm oil. These compounds have antioxidant activity and immunoregulatory properties.
Green tea (polyphenols)
Polyphenols derived from green tea (epigallocatechins) are a group of molecules composed of various hydroxyl groups with high antioxidant power and capable of modulating numerous enzymatic activities. These compounds play a protective role against UV rays.
Lycopene
Carotenoids are lipophilic micronutrients, found in various vegetables and fruits, with scavenger activity against reactive oxygen species (ROS) and capable of inhibiting lipid peroxidation. Among carotenoids, lycopene, the red pigment found in tomatoes, isolated, like other carotenoids in the skin and ocular tissues, is a highly unsaturated aliphatic hydrocarbon with high antioxidant activity and protective action against photooxidation. Useful in the prevention of erythema and oxidative skin cell damage induced by ultraviolet rays, it has a synergistic antioxidant action when combined with beta-carotene, vitamin E, and lutein.
OPC from Pine Bark
This is a mixture of bioflavonoids (proanthocyanidins) found in many plants, but especially in maritime pine bark. Pycnogenols have been shown to be 30 times more powerful than vitamins C and E and beta-carotene in fighting free radicals, preventing damage to cell membranes and DNA, and preventing lipid peroxidation. It also has capillary and cardioprotective activity and an interesting hypocholesterolemic and hypoglycemic capacity.
Glutathione (GSH)
Ubiquitous tripeptide derived from glutamic acid, cysteine, glycine is a fundamental antioxidant involved in numerous biological functions including membrane transport, cellular detoxification processes of xenobiotics and antioxidant activity. GHSH is reduced after solar exposure to UV rays with a reduction in its biological activity.
Vitamin E
Alpha Tocopherol is the most important antioxidant involved in protecting the integrity of membranes. Powerful antioxidant that can prevent carcinogens from damaging DNA. Essential in the formation and replacement of collagen fibers, the ground substance of connective tissue, smooth and striated muscles, as well as in the stabilization of the erythrocyte membrane, in the regulation of heme synthesis, and in spermatogenesis.
Nicotinamide
It acts as a coenzyme in oxidation-reduction reactions, participating in the production of energy and the metabolism of proteins, lipids, and carbohydrates. It promotes the renewal of the skin and its appendages.
