Indications

IDRATON 245 is a low-osmolarity oral rehydration solution (ORS) (245 mOsm/l H2O), formulated according to the indications of the World Health Organization (WHO) and the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF).
IDRATON 245 exploits the existence of an enterocyte sodium and glucose co-transport system, which remains intact during gastroenteritis. In both secretory and osmotic diarrhea, the functionality of this system allows the passage of water from the intestinal lumen to the enterocyte and from the enterocyte to the plasma, provided that the intestinal lumen is not affected. administered simultaneously with sodium and glucose correctly diluted and in the correct ratio. IDRATON 245 has the advantage of being easy to take thanks to its pleasant orange flavor.

IDRATON 245 is particularly indicated in the following cases:

• Dehydration from infectious diarrhea;
• Chronic intestinal failure secondary to extensive intestinal resections (short bowel syndrome), chronic alterations of intestinal motility, diffuse and non-reversible alterations of the intestinal mucosa;
• Intestinal malabsorption or altered intestinal transit secondary to gastroresection, gastroparesis, pancreatic resection, bilio-pancreatic diversion, bariatric surgery, celiac disease, etc.
• Diarrhea associated with chemotherapy and radiotherapy;
• Elderly person in conditions of high temperature;
• Person with ileostomy;
• Diarrhea from chronic inflammatory diseases intestinal;
• Rehydration during sports and/or work activities that are very demanding from a hydroelectrolytic point of view.

Directions for use and Dosage

Dissolve 1 sachet in every 200 ml of natural water (5 sachets in 1 litre); drink 1 or 2 litres of drink daily or as advised by your doctor. Respect the aforementioned ratio to obtain the correct electrolyte concentration (245 mOsm/l).
In other conditions of dehydration and/or intense water and salt loss and increased water and salt requirement: 2/3 sachets in a liter of water, drinking the drink as desired.

Warnings

In case of renal insufficiency and heart failure, consult your doctor before taking the preparation.

Contraindications

Severe renal insufficiency, severe heart failure, dynamic ileus.
