CDP-choline-based dietary supplement; aids in protecting the metabolism and structure of the optic nerve in glaucoma patients.
CDP-choline from International Literature CDP-choline (Cytidinediphosphocholine or Citicoline) is a molecule present in the body. It is physiologically used as a precursor in the endogenous synthesis of phospholipids in the membrane of nerve cells, as well as participating in the maturation processes of visual functions. CDP-choline is also used by nerve cells for the synthesis of acetylcholine, essential for the propagation of visual signals. In fact, it has been demonstrated that, in cases of impaired visual function, the specific and prolonged administration of CDP-choline improves the transmission of electrical impulses from the retina to the brain.
