Food supplement based on zinc, lutein, selenium, oligomeric proatocyanidins and antioxidant vitamins that promote the physiological functions of the eye.

Characteristics

The active ingredients present play a synergistic and complementary role in cases of cellular degeneration and rarefaction and consequent alteration of visual functions, especially found in metabolic disorders of the macula lutea, retinal epithelia and crystalline lens.

It is therefore indicated for cellular degenerations of the macula and retina, cataracts and in myopes and/or former myopes in whom any surgical interventions, due to the condition of the refractive error, have not been able to intervene on the pre-existing degenerative cellular damage or on their evolution.

Miopex is particularly active in all cases of degenerative cellular alterations affecting the macula lutea and carries out the important task of regulating the biochemical and physiological processes of retinal cells, preventing alterations of visual functions and stimulating visual sensitivity.

Contains:

• Lutein,  a carotenoid that cannot be synthesized by the body, and therefore essential to be supplied from outside. It is concentrated, under genetic control, in the macula, retina, and lens, where it plays the role of a natural filter, protecting against oxidative photochemical damage. It absorbs blue light before it reaches the photoreceptors of the pigmented epithelium and is concentrated in the rods transported by HDL lipoproteins; it therefore reduces the risk of cellular degeneration of the macula and retina, also reducing the development of lens opacity in old age.       
• Procyanidol oligomers, which have a very strong antioxidant activity and protect the retinal capillaries.       
• Sambucus nigra anthocyanosides, which improve microcirculation, retinal cellular metabolism, and rod cell function.       
• Blueberry flavonoids and anthocyanosides, which play a capillary-protective role also thanks to the reduction of glycoprotein deposits on the capillaries themselves.
• Magnesium, which plays a role in myopic refractive error. It improves mitochondrial oxidative metabolism by providing energy for the function of cones, rods, and ganglion cells of the retinal neuroepithelium.       
• Zinc, which intervenes in the regeneration of the visual pigment. It is synergistic with antioxidants, is concentrated mainly in the choroid and regulates the formation of the electrical signal of the photoreceptors.       
• Selenium, a lipid antioxidant, which protects the cell membrane, plays an anti-degenerative role and improves microcirculation.       
• Vitamin A, essential for the response to light stimuli, regulates the trophism of retinal cells and is a precursor of the visual pigment.       
• Vitamin C, an antioxidant that reduces capillary fragility, regenerates and amplifies the role of vitamin E.       
• Vitamin E, which protects retinal cells from light damage, is an antioxidant for lipids and antidegenerative.
