Indications

Food supplement of B vitamins with Alpha-lipoic acid, Astaxanthin, and Lutein indicated to provide a supplemental intake of these nutrients in case of deficiencies or increased needs. Haematococcus pluvialis (source of Astaxanthin) has an antioxidant effect; Tagetes erecta (source of Lutein) has an antioxidant effect and promotes healthy eyesight.

Components and characteristics

Alpha-lipoic acid: known for its high antioxidant power, alpha-lipoic acid or thioctic acid is an extremely versatile molecule as it maintains its activity both in the aqueous cellular compartments (cytoplasm) and in the lipidic ones (cell membranes). Specifically, at the nervous level, it is able to protect this tissue by acting on various fronts but above all by limiting the damage caused by free radicals. Furthermore, recent studies have shown that the administration of lipoic acid can reduce the risk of cataracts.

Lutein and Astaxanthin: belong to the carotenoid family, molecules that the human body is unable to synthesize but which are absorbed through the diet. Once introduced into the body, they are distributed throughout all tissues, particularly the eye, and are deposited in the retina, mainly at the level of the macula, where they constitute the most important pigments for its defense. Lutein and Astaxanthin are powerful antioxidants capable of neutralizing reactive oxygen species that are formed during metabolic processes that occur in the eye and due to light radiation with a particular wavelength (blue light). Several studies have shown that Lutein increases contrast sensitivity, improves, in many cases, visual function and reduces photophobia and glare. Due to their peculiar antioxidant properties, these substances are useful in protecting the macula from age-related degeneration.

B Group Vitamins: these are a class of vitamins particularly involved in the catabolism of carbohydrates and amino acids but also of all the constituents and functions of the tissues and therefore play a fundamental role in maintaining the good condition of the ocular tissue.

Tagetes erecta L., flower heads; carrier: corn maltodextrin) (22%); Astaxanthin e.s. tit. 5% (from Haematococcus pluvialis Flotow, thallus; carrier: corn maltodextrin); anti-caking agents: magnesium salts of fatty acids, silicon dioxide; Vitamin B3 (nicotinamide) (1.3%); Vitamin B6 (pyridoxine hydrochloride) (0.17%); Vitamin B1 (thiamine hydrochloride) (0.12%); Vitamin B2 (riboflavin) (0.11%); Vitamin B12 (cyanocobalamin) (0.00014%).
