Indications

Lutein and zeaxanthin: important carotenoids predominantly present in green leafy vegetables with antioxidant activity, with a particularly strong protective effect on the eyes. Lutein and zeaxanthin are carotenoids with antioxidant activity that must be introduced through the diet because the body is unable to synthesize them. Present predominantly in green leafy vegetables (broccoli, spinach, cabbage, and Brussels sprouts), they are responsible for the yellow color of wheat and Tagetes erecta, plants particularly rich in these pigments. Lutein and zeaxanthin are distributed mainly in the ocular tissues, depositing in the retina, particularly at the level of the macula, where they perform an important protective action. Lutein is able to neutralize reactive oxygen species (ROS) that are formed during metabolic processes in the eye, including due to light radiation with particular wavelengths (blue light). Due to its antioxidant action, lutein can help maintain the functionality and integrity of sensitive ocular structures (retina, iris, lens). Lutein and zeaxanthin are also deposited in the skin where they inhibit the autoxidation of cellular lipids and protect cells from oxidative damage (epidermal inflammation and photoaging from exposure to UVB rays).

Sunflower seed oil, lutein (FloraGlo - crystalline suspension titrated 20% lutein and 1% zeaxanthin extracted from the petals of the African daisy Tagetes erecta L.), stabilizer (beeswax), gelatin pearl, firming agent (glycerol).
