Indications

Sineacid is a supplement indicated in cases of gastroesophageal reflux, gastric acidity, dyspepsia, heartburn, peptic ulcer, dysphagia, based on:

• Sodium Alginate and Acid
  Sodium alginate, from a chemical point of view, is the sodium salt of alginic acid, a natural compound extracted from different types of brown algae (Laminaria and Fucus) with a mainly thickening and emulsifying function.
  The active ingredient comes into contact with gastric acids, reacting with them and forming a gel having a nearly neutral pH.
  This gel forms a barrier that prevents the reflux of stomach contents into the esophagus, providing relief from symptoms.
  In the presence of particularly severe reflux, the gel barrier thus formed can be pushed into the esophagus in place of the gastric contents, where it can exert an emollient action.
  The effect of sodium alginate lasts approximately 4 hours.
  Why? For the barrier action of sodium alginate to be truly effective, the gelled alginate must position itself above the stomach contents to form a sort of "floating raft".
  To promote buoyancy, sodium alginate is administered in a formulation with sodium bicarbonate.
• Sodium Bicarbonate
  Bicarbonate, when in contact with the hydrochloric acid present in the stomach, releases carbon dioxide.
  The carbon dioxide incorporated into the alginic acid gel pushes it upwards, promoting its floating above the stomach contents and the consequent barrier effect.
  In the absence of carbon dioxide, the alginate would tend to mix with the food and therefore pass into the intestine together with it.
  The concentration of bicarbonate influences the consistency of the alginate gel.
• Calcium Carbonate
  Calcium carbonate is used as an antacid for the purpose of Relieves heartburn, indigestion, and other gastric problems.
  It is an inorganic salt whose action is expressed by neutralizing gastric acids.
  The resulting increase in pH blocks the action of pepsin, an enzyme that digests proteins in gastric juice.
• Ficus Carica

  It decreases the production of gastrin, a hormone present in the gastric mucosa, responsible for secreting hydrochloric acid.

• Mallow Extract

Directions for use and Dosage

We recommend using 1 or 2 tablets to dissolve in the mouth.
