Pea-based dietary supplement useful as an inflammation and pain modulator and to regulate fat metabolism.
Pea is a fat produced by our body that can interact with endocannabinoid receptors that modulate an analgesic and anti-inflammatory action, the subject of in-depth studies by Nobel Prize winner Rita Levi Montalcini. It is naturally present in soy lecithin, milk, egg yolk, and peanuts. PEA's anti-inflammatory and analgesic activity is manifested by modulating the release of TNF alpha, IL-6-8, and other inflammatory cytokines from mast cells, present in the lungs, intestine, and dermis. Several clinical studies confirm its usefulness in inflammatory conditions of the respiratory tract, joints, and peripheral neuropathies. Pea is considered a nuclear activator of the PPAR-alpha (Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor), which is a powerful regulator of fat metabolism in the liver. PPAR-alpha is activated under conditions of energy depletion, such as fasting and during ketosis. Activation of PPAR-alpha induces fat catabolism and promotes mitochondrial oxidation.
Palmitoyleneethanolamide (PEA); bulking agent: cellulose; anti-caking agents: magnesium salts of fatty acids and silicon dioxide; coating agent (capsule): hydroxypropyl methylcellulose.
