Salmon oil is an important natural source of essential fatty acids of the omega 3 series, in particular eicosopentanoic acid (EPA) and docosohexanoic acid (DHA).
EPA and DHA contribute to normal cardiac function.
Omega 3 Salmon Oil from Jamieson contains EPA and DHA in their natural form, incorporated into triglycerides, mostly bioavailable.
Many other essential fatty acid supplements on the market use fish oil in the ethyl ester form, which is less stable and less absorbable than triglycerides.
Fish oil is purified through a molecular distillation process to remove all traces of mercury and other microcontaminants and is certified free of PCBs (polychlorinated biphenyl, a toxic contaminant), DDT and heavy metals (lead, mercury, cadmium).
