NEBIOTIN 5 mg tablets is a medicine indicated for the treatment of conditions involving biotin deficiency (deficiency states).

Composition
Active ingredients
Each tablet contains 5 mg of Biotin.
Excipients
Sodium stearate, rice starch.
Directions for use and Dosage
Take 3-4 tablets a day, swallowed with water.
Warnings
Consult your doctor or pharmacist before taking this medicine. After a short period of treatment, without improvement, or if symptoms worsen after a few days, consult your doctor.
Interference with clinical laboratory tests: Biotin may interfere with diagnostic laboratory tests based on the biotin/streptavidin interaction, producing falsely decreased or falsely increased results, depending on the test used. The risk of interference is greater in children and patients with renal insufficiency and increases with increasing dose. Possible interference from biotin should be considered when interpreting laboratory test results, especially if there is a lack of consistency with the clinical presentation (for example, thyroid test results suggesting Graves' disease in asymptomatic patients taking biotin or false-negative troponin test results in patients with myocardial infarction taking biotin). In cases of suspected interference, alternative diagnostic tests not susceptible to interference with biotin should be used, if available. Laboratory personnel should be consulted when ordering laboratory tests in patients taking biotin.
Interactions
Inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken, or might take any other medicines. Do not consume raw eggs while taking this medicine because raw egg white contains avidin, a substance that makes biotin ineffective.
Contraindications
Allergy to biotin, similar substances (chemically related), or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
Side effects
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. The following side effects may occur.
- Very rare (may affect up to 1 in 10,000 people): allergic reactions such as skin irritation (erythematous or urticarial skin reactions).
