Indications
MicroD is a food supplement based on vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol).
VITAMIN D is essential in regulating calcium-phosphorus metabolism and for bone health. Furthermore, vitamin D helps regulate the immune response and protects against bacterial or viral infections.
Vitamin D deficiency has also been associated with an increased risk of hypertension and cardiovascular disease and the development of metabolic syndrome. Vitamin D prophylaxis is the most effective and safe tool for the prevention of hypovitaminosis D. Prophylaxis must be administered to all children in the first year of life to prevent deficiency rickets. In the absence of risk factors for deficiency, the recommended dose for prophylaxis is 400 IU/day. Higher doses (400-1,000 IU/day) may be administered in subjects with risk factors. From 1 to 18 years of age, vitamin D prophylaxis should be considered in subjects with risk factors for vitamin D deficiency (poor exposure to sunlight or dark skin pigmentation) during the winter months. In case of permanent risk factors for vitamin D deficiency (cystic fibrosis, liver disease, chronic renal failure, tuberculosis, obesity, chronic therapy with anticonvulsants or corticosteroids), prophylaxis may be continued throughout the year.

Directions for use and Dosage
Recommended daily dose: in full-term newborns, 5 drops equivalent to 400 IU/day at least until the 12th month. For prolonged use and for premature infants, follow the instructions of your pediatrician.
Warnings
Do not exceed the recommended daily dose. Keep out of reach of children under 3 years of age. Food supplements should not be used as a substitute for a varied diet and a healthy lifestyle.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place away from light, localized heat sources, and sunlight, and avoid contact with water.
