The supplemental intake of Folic Acid increases the amount of maternal folate.
A low amount of maternal folate is a risk factor for the development of neural tube defects in the fetus.

Directions for use and Dosage
It is recommended to take 1 tablet per day, or 2 tablets per day if pregnant, preferably between meals.

Keep out of reach of children under three years of age.
Do not exceed the recommended daily dose.

The beneficial effect is obtained with a daily supplementary intake of 400mcg of Folic Acid for at least one month before and up to 3 months after conception.
