Particularly helpful for those experiencing intense fluid loss, such as heavy sweating, diuresis, or diarrhea, or for patients undergoing medication such as diuretics, laxatives, or corticosteroids, as it also contributes to regular acid-base balance.
Lithos Plus also has a unique feature that sets it apart from all other mineral supplements: its alkaline nature. In fact, being based on citrate, an alkaline salt, it is also useful for supplementing a diet low in alkaline components (fruit and vegetables) or compensating for a diet high in proteins or fats that would otherwise cause an excessive acid load on the body. If prolonged, this condition could facilitate the onset of certain pathologies, such as osteoporosis and kidney stones, which often manifest themselves precisely with a low presence of citrates in the urine.
It should be remembered that the citrate present in urine represents one of the most important defenses against the formation of urinary stones. From these considerations, the attending physician may also use Lithos Plus to integrate deficient urinary levels of citrate and magnesium, such as in calcium renal calculosis, or to correct states of urinary hyperacidity, such as in urate calculosis, in accordance with the indications of international literature.

Lithos Plus comes in slow-release coated tablets with a total weight of 1.9 g containing 1.5 g of potassium and magnesium citrate.

Directions for use and Dosage
It is recommended to take two tablets a day, unless otherwise indicated by your doctor. LITHOS PLUS should preferably be taken on a full stomach, swallowing the tablet with a little water. For other indications (prevention of kidney stones), follow the doctor's prescription.
Warnings
Lithos Plus is contraindicated in patients with hyperkalemia or hypermagnesemia, or conditions that may predispose to the onset of these plasma alterations. These conditions include chronic renal failure and uncontrolled diabetes mellitus.
Concomitant use of this supplement and potassium-sparing drugs (triamterene, spironolactone, amiloride) may cause hyperkalemia. It is therefore advisable to monitor the progress of potassium levels. No interactions with other drugs are known. Rarely, mild gastrointestinal disturbances may develop during treatment, such as abdominal heaviness, nausea, and occasionally diarrhea. The tablet form may be particularly suitable for these patients.
