Indications

LactoFolina is a food supplement with probiotics (5 billion Lactobacillus Crispatus) and a source of folate (400 mcg of folic acid in its most bioavailable form, 5-methyltetrahydrofolic acid). A vaginal bacterial flora dominated by Lactobacillus Crispatus (defined as Community State Type I category) is considered the one most associated with a healthy vaginal environment. Several studies have verified that a microbiota dominated by Lactobacillus Crispatus correlates with a greater chance of getting pregnant and carrying the pregnancy to term, both in vitro fertilization and artificial insemination, and intrauterine fertilization. Lactobacillus Crispatus is the species that dominates the microbiota of women who give birth at term; conversely, its scarcity, and/or the abundance of other bacteria, are associated with a greater risk of premature birth.
