Indications

Gymnema supplement titrated at 25% gymnemic acids, useful for carbohydrate and lipid metabolism and for controlling hunger. Gymnema (Gymnema sylvestre) is a climbing plant native to the Middle East and India, where it is widely used in Ayurvedic medicine. Its name derives from gur-mar, which means "sugar devourer." This plant, in fact, has a long tradition as an agent capable of limiting the absorption of sugars in the body and reducing the perception of sweetness. Gymnema leaves are rich in gymnemic acid, a complex of glycoside molecules, which appears to act directly on the taste and intestinal sugar receptors. This compound is believed to inhibit the perception of sweet taste and to have a hypoglycemic and cholesterol-lowering effect.

Directions for use and dosage

1-2 capsules per day with water before meals.
