Indications
Methylfolate is the biologically active form of folic acid, corresponding to Vitamin B9, which exerts its physiological effects. Terranova chooses to provide consumers with the necessary micronutrients in its active forms. At the metabolic level, folic acid is converted into the active form methyltetrahydrofolate (methylfolate) thanks to the MTHFR enzyme, which is necessary to obtain the active metabolite. In the world population, there is a high incidence of mutations in this enzyme, and those who possess this genetic alteration are unable to correctly convert folic acid into its active form. By providing Methylfolate directly, we are able to provide the vitamin in the full dosage even for those who have this mutation. Methylfolate is fundamental for maintaining low homocysteine levels, as it is part of the enzymatic system that leads to the transformation of homocysteine into methionine, together with vitamin B12. Vitamin B9 is essential for DNA replication, as it allows the synthesis of the purine and pyrimidine bases that make up DNA, and is therefore essential for the growth of maternal tissues during pregnancy. Methylfolate is also useful for treating blood disorders, in fact it contributes to normal hematopoiesis.

Main ingredients
- Stabilized rice bran: very rich source of vitamin E and its isomers, B vitamins, minerals, fiber and essential fatty acids. Furthermore, it lists as many as 100 different antioxidant compounds (e.g. alpha lipoic acid which recycles vitamins C and E, coenzyme Q10) and superoxide dismutase, an enzyme that intervenes in the neutralization of free radicals.
- Beetroot leaves and fruits: contain B vitamins, and high doses of vitamins B6 and B12 necessary to work synergistically with methylfolate to lower homocysteine levels. It also contains Betaine (Trimethylglycine), which allows the entire enzymatic system associated with homocysteine to function.
- Spinach and Pumpkin Seeds: are rich in methylfolate, as well as all the B vitamins, and increase the vitamin content of the product.
