Indications
Fer Fol C combines folic acid, ferrous gluconate, and vitamin C in a single compound.
Iron is an essential component of many basic biological processes (cellular energy processes, oxygen use, and DNA replication).
It prevents learning disorders and promotes the development of neurocognitive abilities.
Folic acid (vitamin B9), now known as essential in the prevention of birth defects, especially those affecting the neural tube, is also essential for protein synthesis, DNA synthesis, and the formation of hemoglobin.
Vitamin C promotes iron absorption and delays its oxidation. It intervenes in the synthesis of collagen and in the transformation of folic acid into folinic acid.
Composition
Water, fructose, ferrous gluconate, ascorbic acid; stabilizers: glycerol, sorbitol solution 70%; acidity regulator: sodium lactate solution 60%; thickener: xanthan gum; preservative: potassium sorbate; peach flavoring, folic acid, natural lemon flavoring; sweetener: sucralose.
Gluten-free.
Directions for use and Dosage
Preterm infants: 1 to 4 mg of elemental iron per kg of body weight in a single dose or in two doses (from the 8th week of life up to 1 year), maximum dose 15 mg/day.
Full-term newborns or children with severe deficiency anemia: dosages of 4 to 6 mg per kg of weight in 3 administrations.
In mild and moderate forms, doses of 0.5 to 3 mg/kg in 2 doses are recommended.
Warnings
Do not exceed the recommended daily dose.
Keep out of reach of children under 3 years of age.
Supplements should not be used as a substitute for a varied diet.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place.
The expiry date refers to the product in its intact packaging, stored correctly.
Shelf life with intact packaging: 24 months.
Shelf life after opening: 20 days.
