Epatrofic is a liver detoxifying food supplement, gluten-free and lactose, based on Glutathione, Turmeric, and Piper Nigrum.
The liver performs a significant number of functions, a true "chemical workshop" of our body. It produces bile, which, through the bile ducts, is released into the duodenum where it performs important functions for the digestion of fats. Blood containing nutrients absorbed from the intestine reaches the liver through the portal vein, where it undergoes many of the important metabolic changes. Amino acids are deaminated by enzymes called transaminases or used to synthesize some of the proteins in blood plasma, including fibrinogen and prothrombin, important factors in blood clotting. The liver also plays a very important role in fat metabolism, carrying out the β-oxidation of fatty acids and the synthesis of triglycerides. Damage to the liver can be caused by alcoholism, being overweight, the ingestion of drugs or other chemicals, or an unhealthy diet. Mild liver disorders, called hepatopathy, may go unnoticed because they produce vague symptoms such as poor digestion and tiredness.
