Indications
ECN is a probiotic supplement with live cells of Escherichia coli Nissle 1917 of human origin. It promotes the balance of the intestinal flora. Its adhesion and colonization capabilities, together with the production of substances with direct antibacterial action (microcins), make it suitable for use in the treatment of bacterial infections. that EcN is particularly suitable for fighting both gastrointestinal infections (gastroenteritis, post-infectious IBS, diverticular disease, etc.) and recurrent urinary tract infections such as cystitis, prostatitis (especially those caused by pathogenic E. coli, Klebsiella and Proteus) and Candida.
Ingredients
Each capsule contains at least 2.5x10^8 of live cells of E. coli Nissle 1917, at the expiry date.
Capsules: Gelatin, Shellac (E904), Beeswax (E901), Maltodextrin, Methacrylate Copolymer, Talc, Yellow Iron Oxide.
Dosage and Directions for Use
It is recommended to take 1 capsule for the first 4 days, then switch to 2 capsules a day.
For urinary tract infections (cystitis, prostatitis, Candida infections): take 2 capsules a day for 30 days, after treating the acute phase. Repeat monthly, 1 capsule for 20 days.
Take it with water in the morning or near meals.
Warnings
Do not exceed the recommended daily dose.
Keep out of reach of children under three years of age.
Supplements should not be used as a substitute for a varied diet and a healthy lifestyle.
Taking EcN with other medicines:
The simultaneous use of antibiotics and sulfonamides may increase the risk of serious side effects. limit the effectiveness of EcN.
In particular, EcN is sensitive to antibiotics such as quinolones and cephalosporins.
Storage
The probiotic EcN must be stored in the refrigerator between 2°C and 8°C.
An interruption of refrigeration for up to 72 hours does not normally affect the bacterial load.
In case of prolonged exposure to heat sources, the bacteria may lose some of their vital energy, without however causing side effects.
