Cod liver oil is a significant source of vitamin D and is also a good source of vitamin A.
Indications
Marco Viti's Cod Liver Oil contains unsaturated fatty acids, essential dietary factors not usually found in commercial vitamin A and D preparations.
It has been used to prevent rickets in children and osteoporosis in adults.
Ointments or dressings containing cod liver oil have been used to accelerate the healing of burns, ulcers, sores, and superficial wounds, although there is no data to support their therapeutic efficacy.
5 ml of cod liver oil provides an amount of vitamins A and D equal to a child's daily dietary requirements and of adults.
The oil used is obtained from fresh cod liver (Gadidae species, specifically Gadus Morhua L).
Purification of solids is carried out by cooling and filtration, without the addition of additives. Only in some cases may a small amount of antioxidants (Vitamin E) be added.
Cod Liver Oil, in fact, is a natural raw material, so it does not contain "exact" quantities of ingredients added at the time of production.
