Indications

Cystitis is a bothersome disorder of the bladder mucosa, caused by bacterial infections mainly caused by Escherichia coli.
Cystitis manifests itself with an urgent need to urinate, often accompanied by burning during urination, a sensation of incomplete bladder emptying, and dysuria. Sometimes, the clinical picture of cystitis is accompanied by foul-smelling urine and abdominal cramps.
Urinary tract infections, such as cystitis, can be caused by multiple factors: oral contraceptives, estrogen deficiency, unprotected sexual intercourse, renal colic, diabetes and prostatic hypertrophy (in men).

Tips

• Drink plenty of fluids, at least 1.5-2 liters a day, to help dilute the bacterial load, i.e. eliminate the pathogen, in a relatively short time;
• An effective remedy for relieving the pain of cystitis consists in alkalinizing the urine by taking, for example, sodium bicarbonate;
• Some women find slight and temporary relief from the pain of cystitis by taking a hot shower;
• Practice constant and regular physical exercise;
• Wear preferably cotton underwear to promote proper urination. perspiration, therefore avoiding clothing made of synthetic fibers.

Main components

• Cranberry: it is a small red fruit, grown mainly in North America and Chile, which differs from other types of berries due to its high content of type A proanthocyanidins. It is rich in polyphenols such as proanthocyanidins and, thanks to its phytocomplex, it has always been used to promote normal urinary tract function and the drainage of body fluids, thus promoting the elimination of waste and substances potentially toxic to the body;
• Bromelain: the bromelain contained in pineapple is a proteolytic enzyme that facilitates the process of breaking down proteins. Primitive peoples already knew that the highest concentrations of enzymes are found in the internal stem of the unripe fruit and in the leaves. Both the natives of the Caribbean and the inhabitants of Malaysia and East India have always been aware of the beneficial properties of this enzyme.

Bulking agents: cellulose, dicalcium phosphate; cranberry (Vaccinium macrocarpon Aiton) fruit extract titrated at 27% in proanthocyanidins (PACs); glazing agents: ethylcellulose, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, talc, sodium alginate, polyethylene glycol, fatty acids; medium-chain triglycerides, pineapple bromelain.
