Indications
Barilife® iron is the supplement in swallowable tablets containing microencapsulated iron, folic acid, vitamin C and copper.
The use of Barilife® iron helps to safely and effectively correct low iron and folic acid levels, which can cause:
- Generalized tiredness and fatigue (associated with anemia)
- Dermatological problems
- Increased homocysteine levels in the blood
Barilife® Iron guarantees the right daily intake of iron, folic acid, vitamin C, and copper in patients undergoing bariatric surgery. It contains 30 mg of microencapsulated iron: thanks to advanced nanotechnology, the iron is transported in nanospheres of lipid droplets that are immediately absorbed even in cases of duodenal resection. Furthermore, thanks to the nanotechnology used, Barilife® Iron is highly tolerable: the iron does not come into contact with the gastric mucosa, completely avoiding any irritating action typical of the most common iron-based supplements.
Iron is an essential element for our body; its main function is the production of hemoglobin and myoglobin, proteins important for proper tissue oxygenation. Furthermore, iron contributes to normal energy metabolism and the growth of all body tissues, and to the development and functioning of cognitive and psychological abilities.
Folic acid, or vitamin B9, is important for cell growth and duplication, for DNA and protein synthesis, and for homocysteine metabolism. The most frequent manifestations of vitamin B9 deficiency are attributable to an alteration in the maturation of red blood cells (megaloblastic anemia), as well as increased levels of homocysteine in the blood, which can lead to an increase in cardiovascular risk factors.
The addition of vitamin C, a powerful antioxidant, helps fight oxidative stress by counteracting cellular aging; the protected form of vitamin C guarantees better bioavailability, therefore better efficacy of the vitamin.
The presence of copper allows Barilife® Iron enhances the activity of antioxidant mechanisms and the immune system, preventing cellular aging and the onset of infections. Furthermore, in combination with Vitamin C, copper promotes the maintenance of connective tissues, preventing dermatological disorders (hair loss, loss of skin elasticity, brittle nails).

How to use
Swallow 1 tablet with a glass of water.
To make it easier to take, you can crush the tablet and add the resulting powder to permitted foods, or divide the tablet in two.
Take 1 tablet per day or as directed by your doctor.
Warnings
Supplements should not be considered a substitute for a varied diet; do not exceed the recommended daily dose.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
Pregnant or breastfeeding women should use Barilife iron under medical supervision.
Interactions
No interactions have been detected between Barilife® iron and other drugs and supplements.
Side effects
There are no data or cases documenting toxicity related to the compounds present in Barilife® iron. In extremely rare cases, skin rashes and diarrhea may occur.
